Some of the Important Announcements of the Government  

during January, 2008

1. As per Public Notice No.94 (RE-2007)/2004-09 dated 1^stJanuary, 2008 Export to SEZ Units/Supplies to Developers/Co-developers would also be counted for discharge of Export Obligation under EPCG scheme irrespective of currency of realization.

2. Public Notice No.97(RE-2007)/2004-09 dated 4^thJanuary, 2008 amends the Appendix 6 relating to list of IS/ISO 9000 (Series)/ISO-14000 (Series)/WHO-GMP/HACCP/ SEI/ CMM Level II and other Certification Agencies and application for enlistment in Appendix – 6.

3. VKGUY product codes No.9.19 and 9.20 in Appendix 37A, stands deleted w.e.f. 1.4.2006 vide Public Notice No.98 (RE-2007)/2004-2009 dated 7^thJanuary, 2008

4. Public Notice No.99 (RE-2007)/2004-09 dated 8^thJanuary, 2008 specifies that additional export obligation (over and above indicated average) for all previous EPCG licences, which have not been redeemed, will be indicated separately.

5. Public Notice No.100(RE-2007)/2004-09 dated 10^th January, 2008 specifies the procedures for claiming benefits under Focus Market Scheme (Para 3.20.1); Focus Product Scheme (Para.3.21.1) and High-Tech Products Export Promotion Scheme (Para 3.22.2).

6. Public Notice No.101 (RE-2007)/2004-09 dated 14^thJanuary, 2008 notifies the procedure to be followed for allocation of benefit of duty credit scrip by RA, CLA, New Delhi to all Status holders under Para 3.8.6 of FTP.

7. Public Notice Nos. 102(RE-2007)/2004-09 dated 16^thJanuary, 2008 amends Paragraph 8.3.1(ii) and 8.3.1(iv) relating to procedure for claiming Deemed Exports Drawback & Terminal Excise Duty Refund/Exemption from payment of Terminal Excise Duty.

8. Last date for filing of applications under Focus Market and Focus Product Schemes for which realizations have already been received shall be 30.7.2008, as per Public Notice No.103 (RE-2007)/2004-2009 dated 17^th January, 2008.

9. Handmade Carpets and other textile floor coverings are included in the list of export items allowed under Vishesh Krishi and Gram Udyog Yojana (VKGUY) vide Public Notice No.104 (RE-2007)/2004-09 dated 23^rdJanuary, 2008 w.e.f 1.4.2007.

10. Prohibition imposed on export of Wheat and wheat products shall not be applicable to export of 17,000 MT of wheat flour to Maldives through STC/MMTC as per Notification No.71 (RE-2007)/2004-2009 dated 7^thJanuary, 2008. 

11. Notification No.72 (RE-2007)/2004-09 dated 22^ndJanuary, 2008 elaborates the procedure to exist from EOU/EHTP/STP/BTP unit.

12. Prohibition imposed on export of Non-basmati rice shall not be applicable to export of 50,000 MT of rice to Madagascar through STC and 25,000 MT of rice to Comoros and 9,000 MT of rice to Mauritius through MMTC as per Notification No.73 (RE-2007)/2004-2009 dated 24^th January, 2008. 

13. Policy Circular No.25(RE-2007)/2004-2009 dated 1^stJanuary, 2008 clarifies in respect of services not originating from India shall not be eligible for benefits under Served from India Scheme (SFIS) for service providers.

14. Policy Circular No.26(RE-2007)/2004-2009 dated 9^thJanuary, 2008 clarifies that export of restricted/prohibited items would not be eligible for benefits under various schemes of Chapter 3 ofFTP 2004-2009.

15. Policy Circular No.27(RE-2007)/2004-2009 dated 17^th January, 2008 clarifies regarding validity of RCMC issued by EPCs/FIEO. 

16. Policy Circular No.28(RE-2007)/2004-2009 dated 22^ndJanuary, 2008 explains procedures relating to fulfillment of Export Obligation under EPCG scheme as announced under Public Notice No.99 (RE-2007)2004-2009 dated 8.1.2008.
