Some of the Important Announcements made by the CBEC, Government of India during July, 2008 Department of Revenue Cotton falling under Tariff Item 5201 is exempted from import duty vide Notification No.84/2008-Customs dated 8thJuly, 2008. Duty Drawback on Cotton falling under Tariff Item 5201 is withdrawn vide Notification No.86/2008-Customs(NT) dated 8thJuly, 2008. Dhannad Rau, District Indore and Talegaon, District Pune are appointed as Port for unloading of imported goods and loading of export goods by Notification No.88/2008-Customs (NT) dated 17 July, 2008. Circular No.11/2008-Customs issue clarification relating to classification of Large Format Printers. Circular No.12/2008-Customs is the corresponding Circular relating to changes/amendments in the EOU/EHTP/STP and Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Schemes. Notification No.42/2008-Central Excise has levied excise duty on Pan Masala on the basis of Packing Machine.
